Install, connect, work.

First-time setup

1. Download the Mac companion from the official page.
2. Move Vibe Walkie to Applications and open it.
3. Follow the guided Accessibility permission request.
4. On iPhone, choose “Connect my Mac” and scan the QR code.
5. Compare the code and click “Allow” on the Mac.

Multiple Macs and Roaming Mode

Install the companion on every Mac and pair each one with its Roaming QR. Tap the Mac name at the top left of the app to switch machines. For remote access, install Tailscale separately on the iPhone and Mac and connect both to the same tailnet. Local networking remains preferred.

The Mac does not appear

Check that Vibe Walkie is open on the Mac. Locally, verify Wi-Fi and the iPhone’s Local Network permission. Remotely, verify that Tailscale is connected to the same tailnet on both devices. A QR code expires after two minutes.

Dictation is not inserted

Open a non-secure text field on the Mac before holding the dictation button. If the window or field changes during recording, Vibe Walkie intentionally keeps the text on the iPhone instead of sending it.

Get help or report a problem

Use the public GitHub issue tracker and include your iOS, macOS and Vibe Walkie versions. Never publish an active QR code, key, confidential dictated text or private screenshot.

Open source and official build

The source code is available under the MPL-2.0 license. App Store purchases fund the official signed build, updates and support.
