The app

Vibe Walkie requires no account and includes no advertising, tracking or third-party telemetry. Your iPhone connects directly to your Mac on the local network or remotely through Tailscale.

Roaming Mode through Tailscale

Optional Tailscale compatibility requires the service to be installed and configured separately by the user. Vibe Walkie does not receive Tailscale account credentials or tokens. Vibe Walkie TLS and certificate pinning remain active.

Dictation and controls

Dictation audio is processed on the iPhone and is not sent to the Mac. Only the finalized text is transmitted after the target is validated. Keyboard, pointer and screen commands do not pass through a Vibe Walkie server.

Stored data

Vibe Walkie stores no dictation history. Pairing keys remain in Apple’s secure keychains on your devices.

Permissions

The iPhone camera scans the pairing QR code. Microphone and speech recognition permissions are requested when dictation is first used. On Mac, Accessibility enables controls; Screen Recording is requested only if you enable the optional live screen view.

Apple Health, activity and camera

With your permission, Vibe Walkie reads steps, walking distance and exercise minutes from Apple Health to summarize activity during work. It never writes Health data. Processing happens on your iPhone; seven-day totals may be sent to your paired Mac over the encrypted connection. The optional posture coach analyzes the Mac camera locally: no images or skeleton data are stored or sent; only walking-session times may be shared between your devices. The developer does not receive this data or use it for advertising.

You can revoke Health and camera access in your device settings. Local session logs are retained for up to 366 days. To erase this history, delete the iPhone app; on Mac, quit Vibe Walkie and delete the file below. Original Apple Health records remain unchanged.

The website

The website requires no account and no longer collects email addresses through a form. Earlier waitlist data is never sold or used for third-party advertising.

Google Analytics measures website usage only after you give consent. Analytics storage is denied by default and no advertising tool is enabled. Your choice is stored in your browser and can be cleared with the site data.
